I have seen Howler Monkeys in Costa Rica, Belize, and Honduras. I have also heard them howl. However, I had never seen them howl. On our boat trip on the Pixiam River we found a group of 2 males and 2 female howler who were howling very loudly to defend their territory. Ten year old Aditya got the best picture with all four howling at the same time. I think this is one of the best photos our family has!
This was another unusual shot with one of the howlers stretching out.
We could get some great closeups of these amazing primates.
