Dall Sheep, Alaska

Dall Sheep are challenging to see in the wild and especially up close. However, close to Anchorage, on the busy Seward Highway, there is a spot to see them up close. It took us several passes to finally see one but we eventually did. Aditya (12 years old) got an amazing shot of a mothers and babies scaling nearly vertical cliffs.

This was a very picturesque location with the colorful lichen and wildflowers.

We did not see any mature rams who have horns like big horn sheep but the females have smaller horns.
