In a display comparible to the leks of South America and the Birds of Paradise displays, the Greater Sage Grouse put on an elaborate mating display in April in the Rocky Mountain. The Henefer Lek is one of the more accessible leks being an hours drive from Salt Lake City. Much of the Greater Sage Grouse territory is under threat from oil and gas operations but many environmental groups aer working hard to preserve the remaining leks. Here you can see many males displaying to the female located front and center in the photo.
