Brilliantly colored but often elusive and difficult to spot in the gloom of the forest. Male is bright blue above and orange below with a green cap. We were able to good great looks at the Black-crowned Pitta feeding station and the 500 mm F4 lens had enough light to get good shots.
His back is a brilliant blue.
Female replaces male’s blue with lovely cream-spotted green.
