Amongst the prettiest of the parrots the Blue and Yellow Macaw is much sought after. I have seen them flying in the distance in Peru. But at Pousada Aguape large flocks frequented the palms at the lodge. This allowed for amazing shots including many in flight.
Seen from below they are a beautiful yellow.
They were still difficult to photograph in flight but with so many chances some shots came out nice.
These impressive birds are often in zoos and even pets but seeing them in nature is something else and it was great to see them thriving here.
From above they are blue and have a totally different look.
This shot nicely captures the dual yellow blue color of these amazing parrots.
