Bulwer's Pheasant, Trusmadi, Borneo

Very rare, medium-sized pheasant. During the pandemic at Trusmadi this pheasant was found frequenting an area and a hide was built. The male is almost unbelievable-looking; an immense fan of a snow-white tail sticks out of a rotund, coal-black body with intricate patterns. Found in hilly areas in foothill and montane forest; sometimes nomadic, seeking out fruiting trees.

Easily one of the prettiest birds we've ever seen with an amazing set of colors and patterns.

Argus Pheasant and Banded Pitta have also visited this hide but we were not able to see those despite the pitta calling often from very close by.
