Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Gomantong Caves, Borneo

This striking trogon with an extensive blue gape and a similarly-colored patch above the eye. Male has a brilliantly scarlet rump and underparts. They inhabit broadleaved evergreen forests from lowlands up into the foothills. They forage from a perch, but typically sit quite still and act sluggish. Once located you can get a good photograph.
