Hooded Pitta, Jurong Bird Park, Singapore, Asia

I've always wanted to see a Pitta due to their cute Antpitta like look along with spectacular colors. Singpapore in winter at the botanical gardens provides great chances to see this species. I may have seen one scamper into the underbrush when we visited the gardens. Pittas are skulkers and even getting a shot at Jurong is very difficult. They have done such a great job of creating their natural habitat that they skulk in the aviary as well. I was lucky to get a closeup shot of this handsome hooded pitta before he skulked back into the underbrush.
