Our cruise ship the Disney Wonder docked in Juneau. Gowri took a helicopter ride to the Taku glacier as part of her 40th birthday cruise. I had already taken the glacier helicopter ride when I went to Alaska with my parents and we figured Aditya would be just as excited to take a photo tour (he loves taking pictures and is very good for a 5 year old). Five year old Aditya and I took the whale and Mendenhall glacier photo tour. We hiked to the Mendenhall Glacier on a beautiful day. In fact, our entire Alaska cruise was amazing weather which in not at all common. The Mendenhall glacier is a classic tidewater glacier that does not calve frequently. The mountain to the left and the waterfall to the right make it hard to believe that such a beautiful scene exists!
