Pu'u 'O'o Lava Flow, Volcano National Park, Big Island Hawaii

 

 

 

When we visited, very little lava was flowing and a helicopter ride was necessary to see any. Even by helicopter we only saw a few patches but it was great to see some lava. The glow at the main crater is not the actual lava but how that lava lights up the gases escaping the crater. Six year old Aditya managed to grab the camera right when we got to the lava so this is the only decent picture we got!
