One of our most amazing wildlife experiences was gorilla trekking. It took 8 hours to find the Mubara group. The first group we were assigned could not be found. Plus we had a 80 year in our group that struggled with the trek leading to a long day. But when we found the Mubare group we got great looks for an entire hour!

Maraya, the siverback of this group, does not tolerate other adult males in the group. He is also notorious since he took over the group by ousting the previous Silverback, when that Silverback got injured trying to eat fruit from a tree and falling from the tree.

Sticking to character, Maraya showed up his silver back and flipped us off! Actually he was just scratching himself.

The group has a 1 month old who gave us great looks.
