White Rhino, Lake Nakuru, Kenya (11/2000)

Back in 2000, millions of flamingos flocked to the rift valley Lake Nakuru to feed on the algae. Since then due to pollution and dropping water levels the flamingos have moved on to other rift valley lakes. White Rhino have also been introduced to Lake Nakuru and are protected with anti-poaching patrols. This leads to one of the most amazing sights with rhinos walking among a sea of pink.

We also went Rhino trekking in Uganda and got great looks. As you can see in the picture, they are not white but have a wider mouth which is was mistakenly called white by the British.

Taleo is the dominant male we saw.

We also saw mother and baby.
